Ocean Empire Management was founded in May 1999. Its name comes from the crossroads of Ocean Avenue and Empire Boulevard — where it all began.
Our buildings have long been part of the neighborhood’s story. 99 Ocean Avenue was once a hotel before becoming residential studios in the 1940s. By the early 2000s, 75 and 99 Ocean Avenue became known as the “Jazz Dorms,” home to many talented musicians who helped shape the local culture.
Today, that creative spirit continues. 1641 and 1650 Ocean Avenue have become known as the “Musician Dorms of Midwood,” carrying forward a tradition of artists choosing our properties as their home — a reputation supported by local media coverage and strong community recognition.
